President and Chief Medical Officer
Dr. González-Escola is a double board-certified surgeon with extensive academic and professional achievements. He has played a key role in advancing novel technologies both within and beyond the medical field.
As an outdoor sports enthusiast and former competitive athlete, he has personally experienced—and witnessed—the impact of extreme heat throughout his career. Recognizing the urgent need to prevent sustained spikes in brain temperature, particularly among outdoor athletes, he partnered with his children and wife to create the one-of-a-kind Brain Cooler concept.

Sofía Morales is a highly accomplished professional known for her exceptional creativity, leadership, and organizational expertise. Throughout her career, she has held key roles in renowned international companies such as L’Oréal, Bonafont, and Philip Morris. Her innovative vision and achievements were so impactful that they reshaped entire departments, driving measurable growth and lasting change. Among her many contributions, she led the conceptualization, implementation, and expansion of pioneering initiatives—including large-scale local and national events—that elevated brand presence to new heights.
An outdoor sports enthusiast and avid marathon runner, Sofía brings both personal passion and professional expertise to her work. As the mother of four young athletes, she is deeply committed to safeguarding the health and well-being of youth in sports. She is a proud co-founder of the Brain Cooler, where her mission is to protect young athletes by preventing heat-related brain risks, while promoting family wellness as a whole.

Sonny Ritacca is an accomplished business leader recognized for his expertise in scaling organizations, driving substantial growth, and developing high-performing teams. His extensive career spans multiple industries, consistently marked by strategic vision and outstanding execution.
In addition to his entrepreneurial achievements, including multiple successful turnarounds and startups. Sonny served as Vice President of Global Revenue & Sales teams at The Avis Budget Group, where he oversaw $600M+ divisions and led teams to record growth. At The Brain Cooler, he focuses on expanding market reach, strengthening partnerships, and delivering innovative solutions to athletes, coaches, and organizations. Outside of work, he is a passionate sports enthusiast and active supporter of the dog rescue community.
